Breast cancer doesn’t wait, and neither can we. Prevent Breast Cancer is raising funds to build The National Breast Imaging Academy. The Academy will change the future of breast cancer, by providing cutting-edge facilities to train vital breast specialists, meaning more mammograms, more research and more lives saved. It will support breast services nationwide and enable 13,000 people to have a breast screening each year. Your support today will ensure you and your loved ones can access the healthcare you need, precisely when you need it most. We’re so close to making The Academy a reality, but we need your help to open the doors.

Breast cancer rates are rising whilst the UK is facing a critical shortage of breast imaging staff. Breast cancer diagnosis and treatment relies on the expertise of breast imaging specialists. Around 56,800 people are diagnosed each year and with this number predicted to rise, the demand for breast imaging continues to surge. Breast units are closing across the UK, causing devastating delays in diagnosis and treatment. 15% of imaging posts vacant and significant retirements expected by 2025, immediate action is needed to futureproof breast screening across the UK.

To address these challenges, we urgently need to build the National Breast Imaging Academy to train the next generation of breast imaging staff, provide more breast screenings and advance research into breast cancer prevention. It is also expected to save the health economy £50 million over ten years and create local job opportunities. Your donation today will not only change the lives of women all over the UK, it will save lives. It’s not just a building, it’s a lifeline.
